As someone that loves planning and goal-setting it should come as no surprise that I love the New Year. Even though there’s really nothing special about starting a new calendar year, it feels like a fresh start and everyone is so motivated to make the next year their best yet.
But, as you can tell from the dwindling numbers at the gym by February, the new year motivation often wears off quickly and it’s not easy to stick to your goals.
I launched Loop Digital in November and I have big goals for my first full year in business in 2018. But it’s one thing to set those goals and it’s another to actually achieve them.
If you’re in business, likely something you’d like to do this year is to make more money!
I believe the biggest difference between those that reach their goals and those that don’t is this: those that reach their goals made a plan for how they were going to get there.
Over the holidays I spent most of my time writing out a full, in-depth business plan. The plan is 47 pages and outlines every detail in my business for the next year including my marketing plan, hiring, and a detailed financial projection.
It feels great going into the New Year with a blueprint for how to create my dream business. I know that it’s going to be a great foundation to build my company on and most importantly it will allow me to serve my clients better because I can focus on them instead of stressing about my business operations.
I know exactly how many new clients I need to take on this year to reach my goals and what my capacity is to take them on. I’ve also mapped out how I will spend my marketing budget and have an idea of how much it will cost to acquire a new client.
Of course money isn’t my only goal for the year, I’d also like to create more time freedom for myself and travel a lot this year. So I’ve built into my plan a process for working with contractors and at what point I will hire a full-time employee to help with managing the business.
If you want to make more money in 2018 then you better have a plan for how you’re going to achieve that.

Understanding the different stages of your customer awareness will help us know what stage customers are at in their buying process. Reaching people with the right message at the right time is key to creating advertising that resonates.
Testing is the most important part of my process at Loop Digital. The testing process will outline what marketing angles we will test, which networks we will advertise on, what types of ads we will test, and what media we will test in the ads.
I do an audit of your current funnel (i.e. landing pages and sales pages) to make sure that they will do a good job converting customers. If not, I make recommendations and help to get them to a point where we can run ad traffic to them. You can have the best advertising but if it takes users to a poor experience on the website, then your ads are not going to be successful.
